Memorial Park

Opened in 1924, originally a World War I U.S. Army training camp. This public park gifted by the Hogg family is more than 1400 acres and is home to jogging trails, hike and bike trails, public Memorial Park Golf Course, play grounds and sports fields. Unlike other municipal city parks across the nation the majority of Memorial Park remains undeveloped and heavily forested. Residents in the neighborhoods surrounding Memorial Park often report deer, armadillo, bobcat and native bird sightings.
